Pre-read: Why your physiology is not a bug
A sample lesson from The Female CEO Operating System, the cohort programme from Expand Education. No sign-in required.
## The Female Operating System
Most executive health frameworks were designed around male physiology and applied to women without modification. The result: protocols that misfire, advice that contradicts your lived experience, and decades of women being told their symptoms are stress, anxiety, or imagination.
This programme starts from a different premise. Female biology is not a deviation from a male default. It is a different operating system with its own rhythms, vulnerabilities, and strengths. The leadership question is not how to override it — it is how to work with it.
### What you need to hold in your head before the live session
**1. Your hormones are not a monthly inconvenience.** Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone shape sleep architecture, glucose regulation, cardiovascular tone, mood, memory, muscle synthesis, and stress reactivity. They fluctuate weekly, monthly, and across decades. Most performance interventions ignore this entirely.
**2. The transitions are the risk windows.** Menarche, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause, surgical menopause — these are not edge cases. They are the periods where the operating system is rewriting itself, and where most women lose career momentum without ever being told why.
**3. The data is thin and recent.** Until 1993, women were systematically excluded from most clinical trials. The medical evidence base for women aged 40-60 is roughly 30 years of catch-up. Treat all dogma — including this programme — as provisional.
*Bring to the live session: one symptom, performance dip, or pattern you have noticed in your own body that has never been adequately explained.*
